πŸ“š My Investment Reading Notes

"Successful investing begins by standing on the shoulders of giants."

This is a list of masterpieces that have deeply inspired me since 2021, shaping my investment philosophy and asset allocation strategies.
I have compiled the books I take out to read and use as a compass whenever shaken by market volatility.

How this page is edited

This is not a collection of publisher blurbs. The Personal Note on each card records what the book changed in my own investment rules and, where relevant, what I read with caution or disagreement. The quiz is a simple navigation tool connecting answers to tags; it does not rank books objectively.

Three reading paths by purpose

  • If you are building principles for the first time: read index and allocation, then costs, then behavioral bias.
  • If drawdowns are the hardest part: begin with psychology and decision-making before product-focused books.
  • If you want cash flow: compare books that discuss taxes, concentration risk, and total returnβ€”not only the appeal of dividends.

Step 1 of 3

What is your investment experience?

The Little Book of Common Sense Investing
πŸ‘‘ Lifetime Book (My Favorite)

The Little Book of Common Sense Investing

John C. Bogle

Index Investing

The bible for Bogleheads. The simple and certain truth to buy and hold the entire market index with low-cost index funds instead of analyzing individual stocks.

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Personal Note: I was so deeply impressed after reading this book that I started dollar-cost averaging into VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF) the very next day. It is an eternal must-read for index fund investing.

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Personal Note: The best book that melts John Bogle's investment philosophy. It's not just an investment book, but a biography where you get a glimpse of his life and how he presented the gift of mutual index funds to investors who were losing money.

The Future for Investors

The Future for Investors

Jeremy Siegel

Long-term Investing

Proves that buying at a fair valuation and continuously reinvesting dividends has historically produced the best results, rather than investing in high-growth sectors.

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Personal Note: A book that made me realize that a company's 'growth' does not necessarily mean 'return' in my account. The insight that you might actually get lower returns because of the high probability of buying expensively at overvaluation was of great help during the 2022 bear market. It became the core logical rationale that made me steadily include SCHD (US Dividend Equity ETF) in my portfolio.

ETF Investing

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Personal Note: I was able to learn how to materialize diversified investing, which felt vague, with domestic listed ETFs. Infinite Buying Method for US Stocks

Infinite Buying Method for US Stocks

Raoer

Dollar-Cost Averaging / US Stocks

A book that systemizes the 'infinite buying method' of steadily buying every day without fear in a bear market. Introduces a strategy of lowering the average unit price by repeating split purchases without predicting market timing.

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Personal Note: It was an interesting read, and I deeply resonated with the book because the author's flow of thoughts was very similar to mine at the time. It was a great help in broadening my perspective to 'how (methodology)' to invest, taking a step further from simply investing in stocks, ETFs, and sectors themselves.
